University License Information

Universities, Colleges, Corporations DVD with Public Performance Rights  (PPR):

This license covers the physical media, DVD of The Genius of Marian to be kept within your university’s campus library or classrooms. The license length is the life of the format. It allows for all university affiliates (affiliates defined as current students, staff, and faculty) to view the film individually or in a group setting without limitation on audience size or venue type, so long as audiences are in a single physical space. Screenings must be for non-paying audiences in a non-commercial fashion.

Examples of permitted PPR use under this license include:

  • Student organizations hosting a viewing for university affiliates.

  • Playing the film in a campus theater for university affiliates.

Digital Site Licenses (DSL):

The Genius of Marian offers educational digital site licenses (DSL) to universities, colleges, and corporations. This license covers the digital purchase of the film and is valid for the life of the format. It allows all university affiliates (affiliates defined as current students, staff, and faculty) to view the film individually or in a group setting without limitation on audience size or venue type. Screenings must be for non-paying audiences in a non-commercial fashion.

Examples of permitted use under this license include:

  • Student organizations hosting a viewing for university affiliates.

  • Playing the film in a campus theater for university affiliates.

By copyright law, any classroom streaming requires a public performance rights (PPR) purchase.

This license also allows the university or college to both view the link hosted on our site and/or host the film on a secure, user-authenticated platform such as Alexander Street Press, NJVid, Blackboard, or similar. Please confirm the platform you plan to use to ensure the film file is adequately protected via email to info@geniusofmarian.com
